While the range of benefits includes everything from home loans to life insurance, this ALFA Toolkit provides information on the Aid & Attendance (A&A) and Housebound Benefit programs. Veterans and spouses may be eligible for these needs based benefits when a beneficiary requires assistance with activities of daily living, such as help with dressing, bathing, eating, preparing meals, etc. These benefits may not be paid with or without a beneficiary’s eligibility for pension.
