Luke's Wings

Bringing Veterans' Families Together

Argentum and its members are proud to partner together with Luke's Wings to help veterans and their families in their time of need. This program is designed to connect veterans residing in senior living communities who are on hospice with family members experiencing financial hardship and living far from the community.

About Luke's Wings

Luke’s Wings was founded in January 2008, dedicated to the support of service members who have been wounded in battle. Recognizing the immediate need for families to be with their loved ones at such a difficult time, Luke’s Wings provides families with the means to visit during the service member’s hospitalization and rehabilitation. By purchasing travel agency services and travel tickets for loved ones, Luke’s Wings provides an immediate and invaluable service to the families of our men and women at arms while also helping to encourage and motivate the service member’s recovery.

In 2011, Luke’s Wings expanded the mission to also include Texas veterans during major life events and all veterans nationwide in hospice care within Argentum member senior living communities. By sponsoring flights for family members of veterans,  Luke’s Wings helps ensures family members are with their dying loved one during a critical time.

Today, the majority of requests are for World War II veterans, Korean War veterans, and Vietnam War veterans in senior living communities or nursing homes. Luke’s Wings regards the Veterans in Hospice Care Program as a “final salute” to the greatest generation that ever lived.

Support the Cause as a Community!

In addition to individual contributions that help reunite veterans in need with their family, Luke’s Wings also asks corporations to support their cause with corporate sponsorships and in-kind donations.

Here's a few ways to encourage involvement at your community:

  1. Fundraise in your community with Luke’s Wings as the beneficiary. Ideas include:
    1. Host a patriotic themed fundraiser on Veterans Day and Memorial Day, that benefits Luke’s Wings. Luke's Wings can help with online or mailed contributions, marketing materials, and “adopting families” for specific events.
    2. Support the Luke's Wings annual “No Soldier Spends Christmas Alone” campaign
    3. Change your existing charitable support to Luke’s Wings
    4. Get creative and let us know if we can help!
  2. Make a corporate gift in support of a family in your community. Your community or business name will be prominently featured on the Luke's Wings website.
  3. Share this webpage, Argentum.org/lukeswings, with your network and encourage them to support as well.
  4. Encourage your residents to personally contribute by promoting the cause via your emails, newsletters and word of mouth.
  5. Share our “Leaving a Legacy” Planned Giving Program with your residents.

Every dollar helps fly the loved ones of our Veterans! Thank you for your support.

Luke’s Wings had the absolute pleasure of being featured on four TV interviews in November. All four interviews feature testimonials from families Luke's Wings assisted in the wounded warrior program. Great job Luke’s Wings!
