Assisted living is effectively regulated at a state level, but there are still a variety of legislative and regulatory initiatives at a Federal Level that are important to senior living providers and the residents they serve. ALFA has been involved and looks forward to working with Federal Agencies and Boards, Members of Congress, and other stakeholders to generate policies in the best interests of older adults and the nation as a whole. ALFA is particularly concerned with developing policies that ensure effective and accessible long term services and supports, protect seniors from financial, physical, and emotional abuse, as well as encourage progress in fighting diseases, like Alzheimer’s disease, which affect the senior population. ALFA’s main goal is to ensure that seniors everywhere are guaranteed choice, dignity, independence, quality of life and affordable long term services and supports. Comments To Federal Agencies And CommissionsFederal agencies and commissions play an important role in government. They develop and enforce rules that affect countless aspects of senior living. ALFA gives senior living a voice by submitting comments to federal agencies and commissions when proposed rules or other actions will affect senior care providers and the residents they serve.Federal Bills In CongressFederal legislation of the 113th Congress that would affect senior living.Congressional TestimonyOfficial testimony by the Assisted Living Federation of America before congressional committees and subcommittees.Federal Statues Affecting Senior LivingA compilation of Federal laws that govern senior living. |
