Participate in the American Health Lawyers Association’s conference this February to explore legal issues affecting assisted living, skilled nursing, and home health providers across the country.
ALFA is pleased once again, to announce its sponsorship of the upcoming American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA), annual Long Term Care (LTC) and the Law Conference, taking place in Austin, TX, at the Hilton Hotel in Austin, Texas, from Monday, February 25 through Wednesday, February 27, 2013. AHLA is the nation’s largest, nonpartisan, not-for-profit educational organization, dedicated to legal healthcare issues.
AHLA’s 2013 LTC and the Law program includes an individual educational track for skilled nursing, assisted living, and home health attorneys and providers. The Program Planning Committee has made a concentrated effort to include sessions with practical information useful to providers, as well as those who represent them in areas of Medicare, Medicaid, Enforcement, Fraud, Diversification, Transactions, Risk Management, etc. Each track also includes “hot topic” issues such as dual eligible demonstrations, Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), employer obligations under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), home care enforcement and new intermediate sanctions, transitional care programs and legal implications of social media, to mention only a few. In the assisted living track, ALFA Senior Vice President of Public Policy Maribeth Bersani will be speaking at the conference about state legislative and regulatory trends in assisted living.
As a co-sponsor to the conference, ALFA’s non-attorney members will receive a special discounted rate of $550 and ALFA Members who are In-House Counsel will receive a special discounted rate of $690. Under this offer, ALFA members who write “ALFA non-attorney member or In-House Counsel” on their registration form will receive the respective discounted rate. Government attorneys also will have a special rate as listed on the registration form. Online registration will open soon on AHLA’s 2013 LTC and the Law website.
