ALEXANDRIA, Va. – February 20, 2012 -- The
Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) today shared details about COMMUNITY 2012, the
ALFA Conference and Expo, scheduled for May 16-18, 2012 in Dallas.
COMMUNITY 2012 will bring together a global community of senior living
executives for executive-level sessions, peer-to-peer collaboration, and
professional networking.
“Executives leading the senior living business gather every year at the annual
ALFA conference to advance excellence,” said Richard P. Grimes,
president and CEO of ALFA. “Each day these executives compete to offer
the best services to seniors and their families. But, through ALFA and
our annual conference, they have formed an executive
community of their own to advance excellence and innovation for the
whole business, and more importantly, champion quality of life for
seniors and their families.”
World-Class, Pioneering Speakers
Bill Strickland, recipient of the MacArthur Genius Award, Goi World
Peace Prize, and three Presidential appointments for his work building
communities, will open COMMUNITY 2012 on May 16. In a session like none
seen before in senior living, he will reflect
on how he turned his passion for helping others into a vision resulting
in a unique jobs training center, which has become the subject of more
case studies at the Harvard Business School than any other organization
in the world.
On May 17, Peter
Sheahan will explore ways to find new opportunity and increase
competitive advantage in senior living, by changing perspective and
perception of resources. Sheahan is a social change
consultant for Fortune 500 companies, and through his business,
ChangeLabs, has worked with companies like Apple to realign thinking
around business structures and organizational design.
