The Assisted Living Disclosure Collaborative has created a new disclosure form to be tested in eight states. The form will be used by assisted living providers, in order to help consumers compare assisted living costs, services, and amenities.

The Assisted Living Disclosure Collaborative (ALDC) was formed by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, a part of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. Eighteen voting organizations, including the Assisted Living Federation of America, participate in the Assisted Living Disclosure Collaborative. The group was created to help consumers better compare assisted living costs, services, and amenities. In order to achieve this goal, the ALDC has been working on user-friendly tools to help consumers differentiate the various assisted living options.

The government’s project management office has approved field testing of a new instrument created by the ALDC. The tool, a disclosure form, will be tested in eight states: California, Florida, Iowa, Maryland, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, and Oregon. In the coming weeks, assisted living communities in these pilot states will be selected to test the disclosure form.
