ALFA Partners with Newly Created Senior Living Association in India

Sharing its industry expertise, ALFA will be mentoring India’s first and only senior living association through a new partnership aimed at improving quality of life for India’s seniors and advancing excellence for India’s senior living providers.

Assisted living executivesALFA will help the newly created, Association Senior Living India (ASLI), develop a program to better serve India’s growing need for senior living providers. The new organization was developed when senior living professionals from around the world gathered at Retirement Living World India, the first Indian conference for senior living providers. ALFA was represented by ALFA Director Steven Vick, Co-Founder and CEO of Signature Senior Living, who was involved with the creation of the new association and will serve on ASLI’s board.

India is expected to see a surge in the demand for senior housing and services in the coming years. India’s senior citizen population is estimated to double to 177 million by 2020 and many young adults are moving from rural to urban areas, leaving elders without family nearby to care for them. ALFA’s and ASLI’s partnership will help providers effectively meet this demand. “ALFA is committed to ensuring seniors have an optimal quality of life in a place they call home,” said Richard P. Grimes, president and CEO of ALFA. “Working with others who share our commitment to serving seniors, wherever they may be in the world, is consistent with ALFA’s mission.”
