ALEXANDRIA, Va. – May 26, 2011 -- Assisted Living Executive, an award-winning magazine printed by the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA), has released its annual list ranking the largest senior living providers. This year, the top 80 private and publicly-traded senior living companies are listed and an accompanying article offers insight into the constantly developing landscape of the senior living sector. Both are available online and in print in the May/June issue of Assisted Living Executive. The list in past years focused strictly on assisted living providers. This year’s data provides a more powerful tool for the senior housing sector by also including information on independent living and memory care communities in the master list as well as separate top rankings for each category. Incorporating these new communities accounted for some new inclusions in this year’s top five overall providers. “The senior living business continues to grow and evolve to serve the growing number of seniors and their families seeking residential services and care for themselves or loved ones,” said Richard P. Grimes, President and CEO of the Assisted Living Federation of America, “The Largest Senior Living Providers list fills an important informational gap for senior living executives and is a powerful tool for everyone with a stake in the senior living industry. Many of our members have now embraced senior living, so as a result ALFA has also broadened its advocacy and business excellence initiatives to serve senior living, inclusive of assisted living, and the seniors and families our members serve.” Readers may visit www.alfapublications.org to access the article and the 2011 list.
